On November 20, 2022, the Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan (Komala) achieved a historical accomplishment by reuniting as one party. We value and commend the selflessness of both leaders, Mr. Abdullah Mohtadi and Mr. Omar Elkhanizadeh, who forged the path for reunification. This achievement will strengthen the Kurdish nation, especially in light of the revolution against the Iranian regime in Rojhelat.
The Komala party is one of the significant entities in the liberation movement of the Kurdish nation. It has sacrificed much of its ranks throughout history, including its first leader, the late Foad Soltani, in 1979.
The unification of Komala has received a warm welcome across Kurdistan, especially with Rojhelatis, who are at the forefront of change in Iran.
On this occasion, The Washington Kurdish Institute (WKI) congratulates Komala leadership, members and supporters, and the people of Kurdistan on this outstanding achievement.
