Dear Friends,
I am pleased to announce the launch of the new Washington Kurdish Institute’s (WKI) official website. This new site serves to educate the public about WKI past, current, and future projects and events. It also acts as a repository for numerous Kurd-related news articles, interviews, opinion pieces, and multimedia pieces from a variety of media sources — including exclusive WKI original material. For those interested in learning more about Kurdistan and the Kurdish people, the site includes extensive educational resources about Kurdish culture and Kurdish history, in addition to other historical and current issues relevant to the Kurdistan region.
I invite you to explore and utilize this website. The hope is that with this new medium we can be even more successful in pursuing our goals of increasing the public’s knowledge about Kurdistan and the Kurdish people (including Kurdish cultural and educational resources), promoting human rights throughout Kurdistan, expanding the role of Kurdish civil society, and advocating for effective solutions for a variety of Kurd-related issues.
Over the next few months the material and media on the site will continue to grow. We encourage you to regularly view and use www.dckurd.org as your primary source for everything related to Kurdistan and the Kurdish people.
Sincerely,
Najmaldin O. Karim, MD, FACS
