Kirkuk Governor Dr. Najmladin Karim received a delegation from Rojava (West Kurdistan) headed by Mr. Salih Muslim, the Co-president of the Democratic Union Party (PYD).
The meeting took place at the Governorate in participation of Mr. Rebwar Talabani, the acting president of the Provincial Council and Mr. Aso Mamend, the head of the Patriot Union of Kurdistan branch of Kirkuk (PUK).
During the meeting, participants discussed the efforts in liberating areas from the ISIS terrorists in Iraq and Syria.
Dr. Karim and Mr. Muslim held a press conference after the meeting. Dr. Karim praised the role of the People’s Protection Defense (YPG) and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) for the recent victories against ISIS and for liberating several areas in Rojava and North of Syria.
Mr. Muslim expressed his visit to Kirkuk as ” pride and joy” he said ” Kirkuk is considered a symbol of resilience and triumph against ISIS terrorists.”
Mr. Gareep Haso, the PYD representative to the Kurdistan region also participated in the meeting.
