Hozan Afrini
Aref Khalil Morshed, known as Hozan Afrini, was born in Afrin Canton in Rojava (North Syria) in 1970. As an active member of the Kurdish movement in Syria since 1990, he is in the Most Wanted List of the Syrian regime. Khendan Media Agency, Aso Newspaper, and Livin Magazine are among the many Kurdish media agencies Mr. Afrini has worked in. He, currently, is the head of Rojava Journalist Syndicate Bureau of Relations as well as the head of Hawar Syrian Refugees Rights Organization. Thanks to his familiarity with Syria and his access to local sources, he is frequently invited by local TVs to comment on the People’s Protection Units (YGP) battles against Jihadi groups in Rojava.
