Purpose of Position
The WKI seeks an intern to provide research support on a variety of ongoing projects and assist with the social media strategy. The intern will be expected to work approximately 32-38 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct targeted research and reporting on policy meetings, seminars, hearings, and lectures
- Analyze and produce written summaries of research, information and data
- Develop and write compelling content to engage audiences on the website and social media platforms
- Provide editing assistance for research products in preparation for publication
- Help plan and attend symposia, conferences, and hearings relevant to research projects; summarizes content of such events
- Provide administrative and logistical support and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Pursuant of or recently graduated with a degree in a relevant field
- Regional knowledge of the Middle East (Iraq, Iran, Syria, and/or Turkey)
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Enthusiasm for social media and experience using multiple social media platforms
- Professional demeanor, organizational and communication skills
- Demonstrated computer skills, including Word and Excel
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Language proficiency in Arabic, Persian or Turkish, preferred but not required
