The Movement for Change is the newest major Kurdish political party in Kurdistan region of Iraq. Founded in 2009 by dissident members of the PUK and led by Nawshiran Mustafa. Gorran currently constitutes the largest opposition party to the governing KDP-PUK coalition, and is currently led by Omar Said Ali. Its policies promote liberal democracy and Kurdish nationalism with a focus on anti-corruption, an issue popular with many Kurdish voters. Gorran sits at a center-left position in comparison to the other Kurdish parties in Kurdistan region. In 2013, Gorran won 24 parliamentary seats, becoming second largest party in the region.
