On October 17, Kirkuk Governor Dr. Najmaldin Karim chaired the weekly meeting of the service departments at the Governorate.
During the meeting, Dr. Karim described the Prime Minister’s visit to Kirkuk as “Good.” He said,” we discussed with Mr. Abadi the economic challenges facing Kirkuk.”
Dr. Karim said,” We presented a proposal to Mr. Abadi for rebuilding Al Bashir village which requires allocation of emergency budget from Baghdad to ensure the safe return of its people.”
On Mosul operation, Dr. Karim stressed his support to liberate the city from the evil forces of ISIS. Dr. Karim reaffirmed that Haweja liberation is near and that Kirkuk administration is willing to receive and help the internally displaced people (IDP) from the south and southwest of Kirkuk in results of the military operations.
The participants also discussed the current situation of the basic services to the citizens of Kirkuk from the departments of Water, Electricity, Health and Education.
On October 14, Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar Al Abadi visited Kirkuk. During his visit, he met Kirkuk governor, Peshmerga commanders, Head of the provincial council, and government officials.
