ALEPPO, Syria (January 6, 2016) — On the rainy night of January 4, 2016, a group of Al-Nusra terrorists tried two synchronized attacks on the Jandol Square and the Masbah District in northern Aleppo. Severe clashes erupted after combatants from the People’s Defense Units (YPG) and the Women’s Defense Units (YPJ) moved to confront the attackers’ plans at the two noted locations. There, a militarily-used vehicle of the terrorists was damaged yet enemy casualties were not immediately confirmed in those battles which lasted violently until the morning January 5.
On January 5, the Al-Nusra terrorists tried to carry out another round of attacks in Aleppo, this time aiming at the long-besieged neighborhood of Sheikh Maqsoud – utilizing a range of heavy weapons. The Defense Units directly reacted to the movements and killed a total of 3 terrorist elements in place near the Oil Factory.
KOBANE — In early house of Today, January 6, a unit of assailants affiliated to the terrorist group known as Daesh (ISIS) continued attacks on the southwestern Kobane as they targeted the beleaguered village of Qereqozax:
At about 4 am the Daesh terrorists could cross to the eastern banks of the Euphrates River in south of the village Qereqozax, circulated their forces in the region and attacked multiple security positions of the Defense Units. The People’s/Women’s Defense Units swiftly replied to those movements and prevented the attacking units from further advance. To fully expel the terrorists from the extent and neutralize the area, a counter-offensive was later conducted by combined Defense Units. The operation which is enduring to the date of this release, an unconfirmed number of enemy fighters have been killed and wounded while several weapons caches of the enemy are seized by the Defense Units.
