Aveen Karim graduated from Wake Forest University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in history. She is a current M.A. candidate at Georgetown University’s Security Studies Program offered in the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service. Prior to beginning the program, Aveen worked as a Membership Manager at Sister Cities International (SCI). SCI is a citizen diplomacy network founded by President Eisenhower in 1956 to promote peace through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation between people of different cultures around the world. She currently resides in Washington, D.C.
