Ahmet Turk remarked that the Party of Justice and Development (AKP) government wanted to end the Kurdish politics and parties, stressing that Kurds did not bow down during the 90s, and will not do so now either.
Turk stressed that the Kurdish movement is the peoples’ only alternative against the AKP policies. Turk added,” AKP government wanted to become one party by attacking the will of the Kurdish people.”
Turk stressed that AKP’s appointment of a trustee after the imprisonment of co-mayors was intended to silence the Kurdish will.
Ahmed Turk who was removed forcibly in Turkey’s parliament in the 90s said.” During the 90’ies, we were forcibly taken out of the Parliament, in the same way, we are being removed from municipalities and arrested today. We did not bow down then, and we won’t do so now either, for sure!.”
Ahmad Turk’s remarks came after last week when the Turkish authorities detained Co-mayors of Diyarbakir Metropolitan Gultan Kishanak and Firat Anli. The ruling party appointed trustees after sacking the elected Kurdish officials.
