AMUDA– tens of thousands of protestors have called for the freedom of Ocalan in Amuda city and insisted on inquiring his fate in prison, which is refused by the Turkish state as they prevent his lawyer and relatives from visiting him.
The protestors have set off from Free Woman square in Amuda city with the participation of representatives of Syria Democratic Council, the Autonomous Administration, political parties and movements, in addition to that, TEV-DEM, Star Congress, civil society institutions and syndicates.
The protestors held banners saying” we want an independent, urgent delegation to head for Imrali to uncover the situation of the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan” and “Apo freedom is the solution to the Middle East crises” and” Apo freedom is ours too’’.
Protestors held 10-meter pictures of Apo and many Kurdish figures’.
After reaching Newroz square, many speeches were given by representatives of the area’s components.
First, a member of the executive body of TEV-DEM Hanifa Hussein have said” Rojava people have revolted for the leader Ocalan” and went on saying” we as Rojava components call for unveiling the situation of our leader Ocalan in Imrali particularly after the military coup”.
Hussein held the Turkish authorities responsible for what is happening in Imrali” we call for an independent body to investigate about the situation of the leader Ocalan”.
Democracy believers advocate Ocalan
Then, the Co-President of Antiquity Body Hussein al-Ali from the Arabic component said” peoples which believe in freedom, peace and democracy are supporting Ocalan in this ordeal”.
Ali described Ocalan as” the great brave leader who was not arrested for a crime or misdeed, but only because he was leading his people to freedom and democracy refusing any racial policies or chauvinist mentalities, and have always called for fraternity of peoples and the principles of democratic nation.
Ali assured that this perspective has exceeded Imrali prison and reached the whole Middle East, and we as Kurds, Arabs and Syriacs in Jazeera canton believed in.
Ali also called in the name of the Arabic component civil society institutions and international organizations concerned in human rights to face Erdogan, describing his acts as “inhuman”, and also called for lifting isolation on the Kurdish leader Ocalan and granting him freedom.
Ali confirmed the necessity of standing together and agreeing on a resistance perspective among the co-existing components of Rojava.
Drawing lines of freedom and struggle
After that, the Co-President of the Legislative Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration Nazeera Koriya the representative of the Syriacs component said that” Ocalan is posing a threat on the dictatorial regimes since he proposed the philosophy of democracy to the peoples of the Middle east”.
Koriya said” the Turkish state has gone too far violating the will of peoples and democracy which is embodied in the intense isolation on the leader Ocalan, since Ocalan is not only a Kurdish leader, he is also a friend of peoples”.
The conspiracy failed
The last word was of Star Conference spokesperson Avin Suweed and she said” the victory of Rojava revolution affirmed to states participants in 1999 conspiracy that their conspiracy had failed”.
Avin Suweed went on” they trying to plot schemes again by cutting any contacts with the leader and his people”
Avin recalled to mind the huge support to the leader Ocalan during the 1999 conspiracy and stressed that youth and women should be standing by the leader at these times.
Evin finally saluted the hunger-strikers in Bakur Kurdistan and wished them victory.
