Majed Ramouzi the Director of Press and News Agencies at the Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Kurdistan Province said that according to the latest decision by the General Administration of the Internal Press at the Ministry of Guidance (GAIPMG), seven more Kurdish magazines had been banned from publication while two previously-banned ones had been allowed to resume their publication.
Ramouzi said: “in the year 2014, 22 Kurdish magazines were banned from publications by the first decision of the GAIPMG of which Roj Rawand was the only one allowed to resume its publication later.”
“By the second decision of the GAIPMG,” Ramouzi added, “eight more Kurdish magazines were banned from publication of which Tebyan was allowed to resume its publication later.”
According to Ramouzi, “Inci Denizim Quarterly, Chro Monthly, Rawej Weekly, Shar Monthly, Shokh u Shang Monthly, Arshiya Monthly and Hanasay Awin Monthly are the seven magazines recently banned from publication.”
