ANHA March 9, 2016
Today March 9, Assad regime forces arrested two Kurdish civilians in Aleppo and conscripted them into the army.
Rami Hamdo, 28, father of three children, and Ahmad Shekho, 27, father of four children were both arrested by Assad security forces in Ramous neighborhood of Aleppo. Both Rami and Ahmad hail from Rajo district of Afrin Canton.
Despite both Rami and Ahmad had previously done compulsory military service, they were told they had to be conscripted into the Assad Army due to the current “special situation”.
Since the implementation of the US-Russian brokered ceasefire on November 27, Afrin Canton and Kurdish residents of Sheikh Maqsood have been under heavy attacks by Assad regime, Turkey, and Jihadi groups of Al-Nusra, Ahrar al-Sham, Sultan Murad Brigade, and dozens of other Islamist groups.
