50 people including children were injured as a result of state forces’ bombardment of civilians in Amed’s central Sur district.
Civilians are on the brink of another massacre in Sur, where a state of emergency has been in place since December 2. Many people were wounded during today’s bombardment in the district where civilians have been awaiting evacuation for weeks now.
HDP Amed Parliamentarian Sibel Yiğitalp stated that civilians trapped in the bombarded area called her and informed that more than 50 people including children and pregnant women were injured. Yiğitalp said that they informed all state officials and were waiting for the evacuation of the civilians as soon as possible. 12 of the 15 civilians, including DİHA reported Mazlum Doğan, asthma patient İhsan Karatay, and 57 years-old Seniha Sürer, were immediately arrested by state forces upon leaving the district.
